The City currently has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Transportation Technician II position. The successful candidate will assist with traffic permits, transportation studies, plan road systems, traffic control systems, traffic calming, traffic and pedestrian safety installations, and use various traffic software, applications, and AutoCAD. The position also involves a high degree of visual and mental concentration and/or occasional pressures of volume of work and deadlines as well as regular outside field trips for data collection.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of a two-year diploma in Engineering from a recognized technical institute with emphasis on the traffic and transportation field.
- Minimum of three years' experience in traffic, transportation, or civil engineering technology.
- Registered as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC).
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
- Eligibility to obtain Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certification within one (1) year.
