Position Overview

Are you passionate about creating safe, stable, and affordable housing for everyone? Do you thrive in a role where strategy meets compassion? We’re looking for a dynamic Housing and Homelessness Coordinator to join our team and help lead change in the Kamloops community!

Join our team as the Housing & Homelessness Coordinator and play a key role in the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of collaborative, community-wide strategies to address homelessness. In this pivotal role, you'll manage federal Reaching Home program funds, support local service providers, and coordinate community-wide efforts to ensure vulnerable residents have access to safe, stable housing.
This position combines project management, community outreach, and policy implementation offering space for innovation and creative problem-solving. If you're organized, compassionate, and driven to make a difference, this could be your next great adventure.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

Completion of a university degree with any combination of study concentrations in business administration, project management, economics, geography, sociology, community development, planning or equivalent.
Minimum of two years current (within the last three years) experience in community development and/or housing and homelessness initiatives.
Valid BC Driver’s Licence – Class 5.

Preferred training, knowledge, memberships,etc:

Experience working with provincial and national housing and homelessness initiatives, poverty committees and/or social agencies.
Considerable knowledge of social and community development, including supports and services for vulnerable populations and people experiencing homelessness.
Project management experience related to accounting, cost tracking, and financial monitors of sub-projects.

For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.

Please note this is a temporary position until approximately June 1, 2026, or return of incumbent.

Hours & Days of Work

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Summer) 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (Winter)
